OrHIMA Call for Nominations
The Oregon Health Information Management Association (OrHIMA) Nominating Committee wants you to suggest fellow members and/or yourself as possible candidates for the OrHIMA Executive Board positions for the next fiscal year July 1, 2022-June 30, 2023.
ALL NOMINEES MUST BE ACTIVE OrHIMA MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING.
Nominations are open for the following positions:
- President-Elect (Serves for a term of three  years, continuing on as President, then Past President)
- Communications Director (2-year position)
- Education Director (2-year position)
- Secretary (1-year position)
- Treasurer (2-year position)
Serves for a term of three (3) years, continuing on as President, then Past President.
This is a one-year position that assumes the President position in year two and Past-President in year three. As Past-President you will chair the finance committee and serve as head delegate to AHIMA. During all three years, you will be a delegate to the AHIMA House of Delegates.
The Communications Director manages and coordinates all communication efforts on behalf of OrHIMA.
Each Delegate represents OrHIMA on the AHIMA House of Delegates. The House exists to govern the profession by providing a forum for Membership and professional issues and to establish and maintain professional standards of the Membership. The House advises the AHIMA Board of Directors on matters of importance to the Membership and the Health Information Management community at large.
The President, Past-President and President-elect serve as the first three delegates for OrHIMA. The remaining two delegates are 2nd-year directors.
The Education Director coordinates all educational endeavors in the State, including those recommended by other committees or projects, and keeps members informed in matters concerning continuing education.
Secretary serves for a term of one (1) year.
This is a one-year term and the primary responsibilities are to take minutes at the board meetings and the annual meeting at the OrHIMA state convention. This is a great place to start if you want to get more familiar with board activities and decide what position might be a good fit for you.
The Treasurer keeps or causes to be kept adequate and correct accounts of all the properties and financial transactions of OrHIMA and causes to be deposited all monies and the Board of Directors may designate other valuables in the name of and to the credit of OrHIMA with such depositories as. The Treasurer renders to the Board of Directors upon request, an accounting of all financial transactions of OrHIMA and a statement of the financial condition of OrHIMA and if requested by the Board, shall cause an annual review of OrHIMA’s financial affairs to be conducted.
