OrHIMA Call for Nominations

The Oregon Health Information Management Association (OrHIMA) Nominating Committee wants you to suggest fellow members and/or yourself as possible candidates for the OrHIMA Board positions for the next fiscal year, July 1, 2026-2027.

The deadline to nominate is May 15, 2026.

ALL NOMINEES MUST BE PROFESSIONAL AHIMA/OrHIMA MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING.

Nominations are open for the following positions:

• President-Elect/Delegate (Serves for a term of three [3] years, continuing as President/Delegate, then Past President/Delegate)
• Education Director (2-year term; 1st and 2nd year of term also serves as Delegate)
• Secretary/Treasurer

President-Elect

Serves for a term of three (3) years, continuing on as President, then Past President.

This is a one-year position that assumes the President position in year two and Past President in year three. As Past President, you will chair the finance committee and serve as head delegate to AHIMA. During all three years, you will be a delegate to the AHIMA House of Delegates.

Education Director

The Education Director coordinates all educational endeavors in the State, including those recommended by other committees or projects, and keeps members informed in matters concerning continuing education.

Secretary/Treasurer

In the absence of the Central Office Coordinator, the Secretary/Treasurer summarizes and records the official discussions, decisions, and plans made by the OrHIMA Board at Board meetings and during the Annual Business meeting.

Additionally, the Secretary/Treasurer keeps or causes to be kept adequate and correct accounts of all the properties and financial transactions of OrHIMA. This position ensures all monies and other valuables are deposited as designated by the Board of Directors, provides financial statements upon request, and causes an annual review of OrHIMA’s financial affairs to be conducted if requested by the Board.
