ACTION ALERT: Urge Public Hearing and Work Session on COVID-19 Limited Liability Protections Bill

In this Legislative Session, the Oregon Medical Association, along with hospitals, clinics, health systems, specialty societies, and other health care partners, have been working together to ensure passage of Senate Bill 780A, which provides limited liability protection for health care providers during the COVID-19 emergency.

Right now, SB 780A is being held hostage, putting physicians, physician assistants and other health care providers at risk.

Please contact Representative Barbara Smith Warner today and urge a public hearing and work session on this important bill!

What is SB 780A?

During the COVID-19 State of Emergency and under the Governor’s Executive Orders, there have been times when care for patients has been delayed or cancelled all together (such as banning non-emergency care). SB 780A provides limited liability protections to health care providers for following the state’s guidance.

This legislation would give health care providers some sense of security that they will not be sued for following the COVID-19 emergency rules.
